Acts 23: 6-8 Hope in Ressurrection

Paul realized that some members of the high council were Sadducees and some were Pharisees, so he shouted, “Brothers, I am a Pharisee, as were my ancestors! And I am on trial because my hope is in the resurrection of the dead!” This divided the council—the Pharisees against the Sadducees— for the Sadducees say there is no resurrection or angels or spirits, but the Pharisees believe in all of these. (Acts 23:6-8 NLT)

When you hope in the resurrection to come, you have the resurrection right now. Eternal life begins right now. Starting with baptism, which is to symbolize our ok selves dying and our new lives beginning.

If we believe in the resurrection of Christ, then we will live as if we do. We will forgive, not hold grudges. We will give, not be greedy. We will obey God’s will and not our own. We all deny the resurrection with our inaction and disobedience. We must strive to affirm it with our actions and obedience.
