Proverbs 30:5-6 Protection

Proverb 30:5 Every word of God proves true.
He is a shield to all who come to him for protection.
Do not add to his words, or he may rebuke you and expose you as a liar.

Here is a great verse to memorize. Every word of God proves true. He is our shield. Amen right? Are you relying on God’s word to come true in your life? Do you come to Him for protection? Remember, God word proves true and look for that. Keep your mind open, for He doesn’t work according to our ability, but to His ability.

I want to also point out that we have to come to Him for protection. In scripture he repeatedly calls for a response from us. God’s blessings are not typically automatic, and don’t come while we just wait on the couch watching t.v. Seek Him in His words, in your prayers, and in your praises.

Lastly, being careful not to add to His word is vitally important. Many church splits have been because of people adding to God’s word. Many friendship have as well. God has given us the place to seek answers. When we add to scripture it is usually to make our own sin okay or to somehow had power to our own lives. This doesn’t work however. Do not set yourself up for failure by going away/adding to God’s word. This is why we are called to study the bible every day and be in a relationship with Christ.
